Canadian Payroll and SQL Server Reporting Services

ReportReport

We have a client who to put it mildly 'hates' the Canadian Payroll Advice slip that is generated by the system.  They have spent time and effort to modify the layout, we have restricted the presentation, we have filtered the data, we have tried to add fields to the report, but nothing seems to solve the general readability of the report.

The staff who have been getting the Advice slip for years hate it and seem to not to want to learn how it is presented - go figure, a report that you need to over explain each time is not a good report - this is their payroll and therefore should be as simple as possible.

What is being asked for seems pretty simple, but as I understand how Canadian Payroll works, it may be a pain in the neck to make happen.

Client has SRSS people on staff - these are not computer challenged people, they get it - so, the suggestion has been to capture the payroll data as it is generated and prepare and issue an SSRSbased Payroll Advice slip.

They do not want to simply capture what is presented, they want to capture and report, Vacation BB, Earned and Used as well as Sick Time Used and Banked as well as OT BB, Used / Earned.  All the additional key points on a payroll, other than the straight dollars earned.

I am hoping that someone can shead some light on this matter - they are hot to move and are extreamly commited to getting this information or they will move Payroll to an off GP solution - and they do not care - they believe that 90% of the issues that they have are related to reports from Payroll.

I am reaching out to the community, we need help to save this client and you are my source to start with.

    Bill,

I have developed a SSRS Canadian Payrloll paystub solution that delivers the paystubs via e-mail.

Drop me an e-mail at mstewart@osprey-software.com and we can discuss.

    Thanks

    Mark
