create validation matrix and validate sales orders

Hi

I want to create an extendable validation matrix where the user can add new entries.

In this matrix I want the user to be able to select fields from the sales order / sales line and set a value which must be validated against using a defined operator (=, <, >, !=). In additon each entry should have a flag if warnign or stop error relevant

1. how can I create such a matrix

2. how can I loop through the entries and validate against a sales order / sales line

any suggestions?

To know we use Axapta 4.0

I have the same question (0)

    Hi CRSW,

Do you have more details? What do you mean with the matrix here? Your description is not very clear. What is the business scenario you want to solve with a matrix? Do you have a picture which should explain how the matrix should look like and how it could be used (design drawing)?

    Hi

Matrix means the validation "matrix" I described (field in AX, operator, value to validate against)

In our system we do have a release process implemented for sales orders and this validation "Matrix" (maybe the wrong wording) should extend the release process and orders should only be marked as released  if the validation (with the definitions in the "Matrix") suceeds

    Hi,

Do I understand correctly that you would like to setup some additional business rules as configuration?

    E.g. Quantity > 0

    Price > 0

    Warehouse = '11'?

When it doesn't meet these three configured rules, then the release shouldn't be allowed. Is that correct?

Are the rules valid for all sales orders in all companies or do you have different rules for different scenarios?

    Hi

Yes this is one way, the other one is e.g on validating sales line to say for salesline if inventtable field A,  salesline field B =(must be) customtable field B

the rules will be available in all companies for all sales orders

    Hi,

At least you need a setup table and a form to do the setup. Then before your release (don't know which exact function you are using), you have to loop this table and evaluate if there are any violations.
