I want to update several fields for ALL existing Inactive Contact records. there is no trigger event. How can i create/trigger a workflow that will look at all records without a triggering event?

    Hi,

First you need to create workflow which execute "on-demand"

then you can use XrmToolbox to execute on-demand workflow on all records.

    Here is more detailed information

    community.dynamics.com/.../step-by-step-running-on-demand-workflow-for-all-active-records

In case if you don't want to use XrmToolBox, then you can execute workflow on maximum 250 records at a time manually..

    community.dynamics.com/.../running-on-demand-workflows-on-records-in-crm

    hope this will help.

    Hi,

Your post mentions using XRMtoolbox and I've found a tool within XRMtoolbox but what I don't see is a way to SAVE the Workflow execution profile like the link references is available in the older MSCRMToolKit..  I tried to use the Toolkit too but it's throwing an error at the time of connection.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Charles,

Thanks! This is precisely what I did using that exact tool, but is there a way to save the configuration so that it can be run on a recurring daily schedule?

I've figured out how to schedule it using an additional entity & bulk deletion rules but I don't see how to call that specific process again (ie: a saved WF template that can be executed when a record is deleted).

    Thanks again!!
