Deleting Merged Contact

Posted on by 50

We had a problem in the past where someone would create a new contact and the Outlook Exchange server would create that contact over and over again until it maxed out at 999.  Unfortunately I was advised wrong and was told to Merge the contacts with the correct active contact instead of deleting them.  The issue we have now is when we move the accounts to a new owner the contacts also move over and the system bombs out because of the excessive contacts.  I would like to remove the inactive contacts from the CRM system.  Does anyone have a way of doing this?

Thanks,

KP

    Hi,

You could register a post plugin after the merge event which will delete directly the inactive record.

    Hi KP2 ,

just delete the contact inactive records, by advanced search or sdk.

Please let me know if you see any problem doing this.
