Recording Contact Employment History with Start and End Dates

Hi All,

I want to try an record (if possible as always) a contact's employments history with start of employment and end of employment dates and the related account

I found a way how to re-assign a contact to another company either through the Company Field or else through the dialogs as found here: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/leontribe/archive/2013/08/10/using-dialogs-when-a-contact-moves-employers.aspx.

The problem however with both is that they do not record the date the person was working for the account in particular therefore there start date and end date (where applicable). I am wondering if anyone can help me out on this.

Jake

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I've explored the possibility of connections already and probably will go down that route

I guess you would need a new start and end date on the contact.

When the contact is created set the start date and when you move it (using the workflow) set the end date.

The problem will be this will only hold one start and end date for the current account.

if you want multiple records then you will need to create a new entity, so you can have multiple records for work history

    Hi Jake,

The most common way to record these kind of relationships where there is a time dimension is to use connections. There are built in fields for start/end date so you can easily view the connections for a contact and see where they have worked at various points in history.

    See msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328381.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Scott
