Hello,

I want to use some third party(DevExpress) client controls in my portal website. But I am facing Bootstrap version compatibility issue, see this image - https://streamable.com/jrygt

DevExpress support person suggested me to upgrade your jQuery or Bootstrap version in portal website, can anybody tell me is it possible to do it? if yes then how?

Regards,

    Hi Matt,

Bootstrap JS file is not appearing in our web files entity. How can I locate it? Thanks.

    Hi Jesica,

I'm assuming you are receiving an error message when trying to update the JS file. This is usually because CRM blocks the use of script files as note uploads. In order to get around this, you will have to navigate to Settings --> Administration --> System Settings. In there you should find a "Blocked Extensions" section or something along those lines. You will have to find the ".js" extension and remove it from the list. Upon saving, you should be able to upload JS files to notes (and the portal) for upgrade.

    Thanks!

    Matt

    Hi Ashish,

You should be able to update your Bootstrap version by one of two ways:

    1. Using the Front-End editor, you should be able to view the Children on the homepage

You will notice that there is a "bootstrap.min.css" child in which you can edit. You can edit this child and upload a new bootstrap.min.css file in which you download from the Bootstrap website for the desired version. This should overwrite/update the Bootstrap file.

    2. In CRM, you should be able to update the Web File called "bootstrap.min.css". Navigate to Portals - Web Files and find the Bootstrap record. Open it up and navigate to the bottom of the form to find the Notes section. As mentioned in #1, you should download the desired version of Bootstrap from their website and then you can add a new note on the Web File with that desired file uploaded.

Both #1 and #2 do the exact same process, however, #2 may require you to clear your cache or do a portal restart to see the reflected changes.
