AOS stops using proxy and is unable to post credit card transations

We have an issue with our AX 2012R3 CU8 installation. We are currently setup to process credit cards through MS payment services. Typically our AOSes will use the operating system's proxy configuration and route all credit card transactions through our proxy server. There are times when an AOS will "forget" its proxy configuration and start trying to go direct to the internet instead of useing our proxy server. This results in failures when trying to process credit cards, and the only way to fix this is to restart the AOS service on the affected server. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Can anyone provide guidance for the best way to set proxy congifuration on our AOS servers?

Our approach was to bypass the proxy completely for the AX AOS service account. We have set up rules in the network firewall to allow communication to and from a fixed list of hosts and IPs only. This way you would not have to worry about security for the handful of trusted sites.

So you had similar problems with the AOS service forgetting its proxy configuration? Were you able to determine a cause? We are investigating alternatives for proxy as well, the most promising we have come up with is to use a transparent proxy configuration. That way the OS thinks its going directly out to the internet, but its traffic is routed through the proxy server at the network layer.

We did not have problems since we have used the setup above from day 1. Letting a proxy chew on the packets was not an option where every millisecond counts in our case (API communication).
