Hi all
A client has today reported an issue relating to Currency field within the Journal Transaction Screen. The user has entered field in currency information and the rest of the data in the screen and saved. When he tries going back to change the rate, the rate field is disabled and hence no change is allowed.
I have done some tests on my laptop and i can change the rate fine even after saving the record. Can anyone please help on this issue? Why is it that i am able to change the rate on my machine and on this particular database the user is unable to perform this change?

So I understand that it's not the Currency icons on the toolbar that are grayed out. The user can click on the Currency icons, but when the Currency Selection screen appears, the user is not able to change the rate. Is that correct?
I notice that batches arriving from other modules in a foreign currency will have the rate grayed out even if they are unposted. Can you verify which data entry screen created the batches in which the rate is grayed out? You can query the Batch table and find the EditScrnNbr for a batch in which the rate is greyed out.
Also, you mentioned that not all batches have this problem. Compare the record in the Batch table for a batch that has this issue and one that doesn't. Look at the EditScrnNbr and the Crtd_Prog fields.
Let me know what you find.

YES..The buttons for the currency selection and currency view are enabled.
I have logged into the system as an administrator and still same issue, i assume the access rights may not be an issue.
Its not one batch that has this issue, actually a number of them behave the same
I will appreciate any help to resolve this.

Hi Elkanah,
When the user first loads the Journal Transaction screen, are the Currency Selection and Currency View buttons enabled?
If proper access rights aren't granted to the user for the Currency Manager module, those buttons will be disabled.
Could someone else have changed the currency of the batch and then now this particular user is unable to edit the currency information?
