General Ledger Security

We have GP 2018. I have a new Accountant and have her assigned an Accounting Manager Security role as well as lots of other access. When she is in general ledger she cannot access chart of accounts. Says she does not have access to this field when going to the spyglass. I seem to be only able to get her access here by giving her power user role. Our accountants do not want extra power users. Any suggestions on how to get her this access?

Good day,

Have you looked at the tables that the user has access to? When the task is created you would have had to indicate the associated tables, or are you using the default?

If you're getting a actual permission error message for the user, we'd want to look at the dexsql.log then use that information as per this blog:

community.dynamics.com/.../troubleshooting-security-permissions-error-messages-in-microsoft-dynamics-gp

That being said, if the user is having issues access COA, you might be running more into account security than you are with GP security (i.e. roles and tasks).
