is it possible to add further detail (other than the %123 options) to the filename generated by the AIF port?

It would be a customization. I suspect that it already is; I don't remember seeing this option in AX 2012.

    Thanks Martin

Can you possibly guide me where to check?

I would start in AifFileSystemSendAdapter class.

i found something... looks like custom code.

What would i have to add, to get the vendor/customer ID?

I'm not sure if it even makes a good sense. This adapter is used for all documents and customer/vendor ID doesn't exist in most of them. Also, the responsibility of the adapter is to save the file;  it has no information about its content (eg. whether it contains a customer ID and where) and it arguably shouldn't care about what's inside.

Please tell us how you imagine it to work.

The outbound port is for PurchaseOrders, so i would assume that a field used in the creation of the file, could be used in the filename (in this case Vendor).

But i understand what you are saying - the class is used for ALL documents, so it will be difficult to specify a specific field.

    Thanks anyways.
