ordering non item master products and services

Is there a way in the system to place a purchase order for items and/or services that are not built into the system as items? I still need to be able to receive the item from a receiving and invoice perspective. Is my only option to use purchasing categories and if so , do they need to be set up prior to creating the requisition?

Hi Dale,

You can setup Procurement categories to achieve your requirement, however you will be able to track financially on receive and Invoice rather than having Inventory Transaction.

For setting up procurement category Navigate /Product information management/Setup/Categories/Category hierarchies.
