Annotation migration using "CRM Configuration Migration" tool

Hi,

I want to migrate data from On Premise CRM to Online version. I use the configuration migration found in the CRM SDK.

Dates (CreatedOn, ModifiedOn) are lost during this process. I found a workaround based on e plugin that copy dates and update them during migration. That work fine with PhoneCall or Task. The problem is that it’s not possible to add a custom field to Annotation Entity.

Is there any solution to maintain the dates during migration or to be able to add custom field in annotations??

Thanks.

    Thank you, Scott.

I saw the suggested post but I had the hope that we could use Microsoft Migration tools to migrate to online version of CRM without developing any code. Your answers are clear : no way for non-developers.

So I’ll spend some time with “how to develop CRM plugins” articles.

    Didier

Another possibility would be to import into a custom entity and use that to drive the creation of the notes.

    Hi,

You can't add fields to the annotation entity - but using the SDK or Kingswaysoft's SSIS toolkit you can set the overriddencreatedon and impersonate a user to control the createdby.

ModifiedOn would need to be set by a plugin to be the same as the createdon perhaps using the technique here - community.dynamics.com/.../crm-2011-migrating-notes-while-maintaining-history-information

    Hope this help
