Inventory Reconcile - Autocreate Bin

Hi Community

 

Let give some background to the issue I am facing

 

My client has posted an variance transaction and has then ran an inventory reconcile which as resulting in the AUTOCREATE bin being created unexpectedly (for the customer that is.)

My question is why has this occurred when the transaction appears to have default bins  correctly assigned and so do the locations (sites).

How can I see if my client has selected the correct bin on the item? I have had a look in the IV10003 and IV30302 tables but couldn't find anything that would create the AUTOCREATE bin.

Your help will be much appreciated.

    Let's say, for example, that there are 12 pieces listed in the QOH value and transactions support 12 but only 10 are found in the established bins.  The Autocreate bin is then created for the 2 extra.  Reconcile actually goes throught the list of receipts and issues to validate the quantity on hand.... The system does not know if the discrepancy should be in the default bin or any other existing bin.  Rather than just dumping the numbers into an existing bin that you might miss, it create an AutoCreate bin.  When you see an AutoCreate bin, you KNOW you have something to fix.  Find out which bin should be holding the items and do a bin transfer.

    I may have left some information out that may have been vital to your answer.

    The particular transaction that creates the AUTOCREATE bin  in the reconcile is a variance transaction.

    Previously when they have posted variance transactions and ran a reconcile this hasn't been a problem.
