Hi All,

I'm new to this community as a junior consultant.

I've managed to set up workflows in my demo database and I can receive emails based on these workflows. However, I'd like to change the message in the automated e-mail that I am receiving, but I can't find any option that allows me to export the notification template and edit it. Can anybody help me shine some light on this?

Hi,

Implementing the workflow at new customer. Now the URL link in the email which is send for approval to the user is not correct. When user click on the email link, he gets and error. Exported report 1320 but the URL field is a dynamic field in the report.

Q: where can you define or setup the URL / or server which must be used in function GetWebURL and GetRTCURL. Thanks!

Warhel, sorry I have missed you are working with 2017 version. There it is indeed no longer exists, and is enhanced with Custom Report Layouts. There has been few blogposts on that, e.g.:

Hi Marcell,

It looks indeed like the way you suggested is the only way to do it.

This is what I did.

I made an item modification workflow which will notify a user when someone has changed a certain field on an item card (e.g. the description).

Below is the notification that NAV will send. My goal is to modify this message.

I also noticed that the information in this notification is always the same standard. So it says "Item has been created" and shows the Item No., Description, details, and a link to the Item.

It always sends this layout saying an Item has been created, so from this message I still don't know what the exact change is because I get this same message regardless of what field has been modified.

@Alexander,

I have been there actually! But exactly those functions are missing in NAV 2017. I can't find notification templates anywhere in NAV17.

Hi Warhel,

That was possible in NAV 2015 and before. To me it looks like it's the only way.

Hi Marcell,

Thank you for your response, I had not seen that report before! Is it not possible to extract the template from within NAV and edit and import it back again or is this really the only way? It used to be possible with NAV 2016, if I'm correct.

@Maneesha, I can not find the Notification Template in my demo reports in the dev environment! Am I missing something?

go to same place there is an option call "notification template" export it

the open the export email as word or out look as you want

edit it as you like' and save it

then go to import mortification template

upload it again

you are done :)

Hi Warhel,

Very good question! After going through the code and a lot of "go to definitions" I think what you are looking for is:

Report 1320 - Notification Email.

In Codeunit 1509 - Notification Entry Dispatcher there is a method called GetHTMLBodyText which saves this report as HTML then it reads into a text variable.

Try to create a new word layout for Report 1320 in the Custom Report Layouts or you can export the word layout from the report, modify it and import it back into the object.
