AX configuration file

Hi, 

I need clarification about AX configuration file.

Currently in one of the systems i work a configuration file exists with 2 AOS present.

When I open it through the configuration utility i can see that 2 servers are associated with that configuration file.

I understand that the config file will always try to connect to the first server and if not available then it will connect to the second server.

What can cause this first server to be not available?

    There can be two main reasons such as

    • AOS1 may be down.

    • AOS1 may have reached to max sessions limit (you can set this in AX, with cluster configuration).

    In addition to Sohaibs answer: Also due to network issues, sometimes an AOS is not directly found.
