Disable editing team names

Is there a way to disable editing team names? Very often the users in our system will go to reassign an account to a team, click the team name, be redirected to team page, and change the name of the team instead of reassigning the account. Is there a way to disable this so users cant change the name?

Hi Zack,

There are several ways i would suggest to achieve this:

- You can restrict access via the Security Roles- remove the Write Privilege for Team on the Business Management TAB - msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh547441.aspx

- Make the Team Name Locked (Read Only) on the form, and allow access only to certain people (via JS)

- Have a Plug-in triggered server side, when the team name is changed and prevent the change - throw back an error or change the name back.

the better approach is to lock team entity by role only to administrative users.

Zack, you can also apply field security to it. Make a profile that has read only permissions and add either the users or Business Unit teams to the profile so they can read and not edit the value.

Sys Admin will have read and write by default with the built in profile
