Some questions about permissions in AX

Hello,I have two questions regarding the security in ax;

1-How can I set up a permission to compile product model? From what I could see, you need some soft of admin permission,since it creates classes behind.

2-How can I assign the permissions for document management for certain document types per user? For example I want user a to see x types of documents in attachments, and user b to see y types of documents.Also I don't want both users to add or remove a document from the system.

Hi Sin5k4,

It would be better to create two separate questions as each question could be tracked if the question is answered or not.

1) To be able to create and compile classes you need to be a system administrator.

2) You can create security policies (XDS) to achieve this requirement.

Can I have the exact name for this role as there's no such role in ax's default roles.

this is standard dynamics AX Role.

not sure about your version of AX or might be you have customized. kindly tell us your AX application version

I am asking about application version which is something like 1.9.08.89 etc.

Technical name of role in AOT is, BOMProductDesigner

PS: I don't have access to a version, less than AX2012CU7, all I have is CU7 or UP versions, at this moment.

Hello, unfortunately I couldn't find a role to compile product models. BOMProductDesigner role opens up the screens no problem,but when user compiles, i get a permission error.

For your 2nd question you can create two diff priviledges with two diff permissions with acess level set to read/write and can asign it to that perticular users.
