Is there a way that I can insert the Financial Tags on the Trial Balance?

Hi All,

In the AP invoice, I used the Financial tags to track the expense for the FA.

When run the Trial Balance, it shows the total. In order to see the Financial tag for the transaction, I have to drill down. If I don't want the extra click of drilling down, then I have to go to the Detail Trial Balance. The issue is, the Detail Trial balance won't give me the Financial tag.

Is there a way that I can insert the Financial tag column to the trial balance without customization? I don't see the available field "Financial tag" to insert it.

Hi,

The financial tags are provided in the system with another purpose than financial dimensions. Out of the box, there is no support for reporting on Financial tags in the application. This will require a customization.

As Andre, Mentioned Tags are not supported for TB.

These are available on voucher transactions so you might want to utilize or customize from there

Additionally there is support available in BPA

You will need:
A) customization of SSRS report (as said previously)

or

B) building custom Electronic Reporting format, that will calculate Trial balance with tags.

What you have to consider is general limitation of tags. Tags were not meant to be used as a source of grouping & aggregations for reports. As a consequence, there are no direct datasources, that will include tags together with balances. Whichever method will be used, SSRS or ER, there have to be built joins between General ledger entries and Fin Tags. That can greatly impact performance of such reports, especially for large sets of financial data.

If the tag was intended to be used for purpose of aggregations / trial balance - I would reconsider creating it as financial dimension instead of financial tag.

Unfortunaltely, you can not use Financila Tags in Financial reports.

Financial Tags have limited functionality in reporting.
