Export to Data Lake vs Synapse Link

I have built an application in Azure using a set of functions that enables us to bring in data in near real time using the change feed files that are landed in ADLS gen 2 via the D365 F/O service called Export to data lake.

It is unclear to me a couple of things:

1. Is the Export to Data lake service here to stay or is it being replaced by Synapse link?

2. What is the difference? We have synapse link setup for CRM and it appears to do somewhat the same thing (dropping files in ALDS) but it does operate and land files differently then export to data lake.

Any support or help on this would be greatly appreciated

Export to Data Lake vs Synapse Link
    1. I would say that Export to Data Lake is going away in favor of Synapse link. (Source). For the "Export to Data Lake" in CRM and Power Platform then the new name is Azure Synapse Link.

"Azure Synapse Link for Microsoft Dataverse was formerly known as Export to data lake. The service was renamed effective May 2021 and will continue to export data to Azure Data Lake as well as Azure Synapse Analytics." (source)

"The Export to Data Lake feature in finance and operations apps is being combined with Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse. We will announce deprecation of Export to Data Lake service and transition existing customers to Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse."

    2. Difference, well there are some advantages with the Azure Synapse Link as outlined here. You can also easily have parquet enabled export and be aligned for OneLake. Additionally, deprecating the Export to Data Lake feature in favor of the Synapse links fits the One Dynamics One Platform roadmap as I see it.
