In Receivables Management Setup (Setup -> Sales -> Receivables) in the Options section in the middle of the screen there are two checkboxes -
These are not here in GP2013
In SOP, they get the pop-up alert when the user tabs off the item line.
I do not see these options in GP2013
Larry,
In Receivables Management Setup (Setup -> Sales -> Receivables) in the Options section in the middle of the screen there are two checkboxes - Display Over Credit Icon, and Warn if Customer Over Credit. If you check both of these then in Sales Transaction Entry, when you select a customer that is over their credit limit you will get a warning pop up on the screen as soon as you select that customer ID, and GP's yellow triangle warning symbol will also appear on the screen next to the Customer ID.
So for example, I have a customer set as 10,000.00 amount. If a user is writing a sales order transaction and puts that customer in at what point does the user get the alert?
If you need something more sophisticated than this you will need some VBA code or some other customization. We have a situation where it also has to add in all the current open orders so they are not allowed to go over the total amount of open orders plus current balance.
Hello Larry - There is an option on the Customer Card (Cards | Sales | Customer). There is a Credit Limit section that gives the option of None, Unlimited, or Amount. If you select Amount you can enter a specific Amount and the user will be prompted that they are over their limit.
