Can GP 2010 client connect to remote server

We set up the GP 2010 server in a remote location and it being hosted.  Our staff sits in another location B.  How can we access the GP from the location B. Can we install the GP client in Location B and provide remote desktop connectivity? GP 2010 is installed on Win 2008 R2 server where I believe we have remote desktop services running. And also if we want a consultant (account) access GP, what's the best way to do it who is an external user?

Dawn, I think you might want to post a clear and 'current' posting.  When you say you are having this issue, you only then move onto a different matter.

Can you repost to the forum to ensure you get a proper reply.

I am having this issue now and I have seen anywhere that this has been answered.

"Receivables Apply Doc" (write offs) are not posted to GL automatically even if we have "Post Through General Ledger Files" checked in the posting setup window."

Can anyone let me know why this occurring?

    Thanks so much!

Sounds more like a licensing issue.  You don't create an RDP.  You use RDP to login with Windows credentials.  Out of the box, terminal server is only licensed for 2 users.  You probably need some more licenses.

Yes. Currently We set up the RDP and that's how I access the server. But at a time only one person can login or is it that Network admin has to create RDP for each user? looks like the latter the case.

You don't want to install the client locally with a remote-hosted server.  Performance will be miserable.  Better to access GP via Remote Desktop or Citrix from location B to your server.

Your outside consultant can access the system just like any other user in this scenario, either via Remote Desktop or Citrix.  You may also want to consider a VPN to add an extra layer of security.
