IP permissions in Business Central

 Hi All,

Is there any functionality in Business Central regarding IP permissions. We need a functionality where only one office address need to be white listed. Only people/users  from the office premises should be able to access the BC instance. If some user tries to work on the BC instance from some other IP address he should not be allowed to do so.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you in advance

This is a firewall setting inside the company.

At D365BC SaaS level you cannot filter incoming IP addresses, you vcan only set authorizations for users.

Use dedicated import functions to add new users or update user information in Business Central from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Choose the Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature icon, enter Users, and then choose the related link.

Choose the or Update Users from Office 365 action.

If this is the first time you add users from Office 365, choose the Get New Users from Office 365 action.

Follow the steps in the guide that appears.

The new users and user information in your Office 365 subscription will be added on the Users page in Business Central. You can now assign user groups and permissions. For more information, see Assign Permissions to Users and Groups.

For more information about synchronizing user information with Office 365, see the Synchronization with Office 365 section.

Hope this information was helpful to you

They have to keep IP for security purposes on their side. For example to manage DDoS, or investigate a potential hack.

Moreover, don't trust any website if your IP matters: They can say what they want. Trust only yourself: use a VPN for example or Tor.
