How to restore production environment 9.0 database to 10.0 test environment

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

A consultant came in to help us set up a test environment for upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0.  Everything seemed in place, with some minor errors configuration for us to still work out.  The consultant is ill and unavailable.  We need to be able to restore our current 9.0 company database to the 10.0 environment.  What do I need to do to accomplish this?

When I restore the 9.0 dynamics database, and then the company database towards the end of the process I get to a window that says:

"This release of Microsoft Dynamics GP contains changes to tables in the company listed below.  Choose Update to continue with the update process of this company."

It lists the company, when I hit the "details" button no details are displayed, and when I hit update it just reloads the same window.
