DCRM Administrator Rights

Hi All,

We have a new DCRM Admninistrator and will be taking over the tasks from the Global Office 365 System Administrators. They have said he can't handle tasks like Copy instance, reset to sandbox and backup etc when needed as there is no way to give him rights as just a DCRM Administrator to limit him to Dynamics 365 Online Admin tasks but the only option is to give him rights as a global Admnistrator which they can't. Can this be true/correct??? Many thanks all...

    That might not be 100% correct, it seems:

    Hi,

    in the admin center if you give him the "Dynamics 365 service administrator" and "User management administrator" roles + system admin security roles in CRM.

    Then you DCRM Admin can manage almost every aspects of CRM. (create new instance, backup restore it, activate/deactivate users,...)

    Hi Alex,

    Many thanks for your reply. I may not have made myself clear. The System Admin guys are saying there is not a way to give rights to the Dynamics Admin resource just limiting him to Dynamics alone, there is only opportunity to give Global Access rights which they will not want to.
