send to outlook

There is a option when choosing "send by email" to then "send to other users or apps"  but the only "apps" listed is excel, this seems insane to not be able to attach quotes to outlook as an option.

What is the best way to send quotes as example through outlook without taking 10 steps and saving files to local drives and then attaching them to an e-mail?

This literally used to be a checkbox in earlier versions that stated "edit in outlook".
I have the same question (0)

Is the email program in the system not set up? You can try the following method.

Changing your default email program on Windows 11:
    • Open the Start menu on your computer. Select the "Settings" option with a gear icon from the list that appears.
    • In the dialog that opens, select “Apps” on the left, and then choose “Default apps.”
    • Select the appropriate email program in the list (you may need to scroll down the page).

Hiya are you starting from within BC?

It should look like this - and you can click "Send by email"

This prepares a draft email - that will be sent out based on the email account you configured in BC.

    does this help?

    Kind regards
    Andy

Thank you for the responses, but neither of those allow the user to use outlook.  Why would Microsoft cut you out of their own products?  Using the "internal" e-mail in BC you do not have your contacts, shortcuts, spellchecker, signature and so on.

    Appreciate the try Andy.

Ah, understood your main ask is to simply use outlook app.

So you can use the Outlook Addin for that; here is a short example:

Search for "Get the Outlook Add-in" and follow the steps

From within Outlook (desktop app or web) you get this new button

You might need to click the 3 dots to find it.

With this side bar, you can create new docs, or view exiting ones:

with a SQ open in the side pane - from there you can click to "send email" and it will open a draft email in outlook with the PDF attached and whatever email layout you have selected (you could clear the Report selection is you didnt want any text in the email body by default - check Report Selection Sales page in BC)

On this image beliw i had opened on of the "ongoing Sales Quotes" from the cue tile

it picks up the email from the customer you were on - but like you said - you now have your normal outlook address book to go from

    See how you get on!

    Kind regards
    Andy
