Hi,

I am using dynamic 365 finance and operations.I have a scenario called ,in journal entry screen i have business unit and cost center.
I need to restrict user to see only assigned BU and cost center/Location data. if user logs in assigned BU,Costcenter data only should show to that user.A person should not see the other persons BU,Location data.how do i achieve that?

I have a journal entry which has the combination of Business Unit-Account Type-Costcenter/Location. The business unit belongs to Japan. I have another entry with same combination(but business unit is different) ,but this entry belongs to Korea. I need to assign the business unit(Japan) to a user. If that user log in,The journal Grid shows only business unit Japan.If another user assigned to a business unit Korea,If the user login,The Business unit korea should view to the user. Likewise i need to restrict data at row level for user.is it possible to achieve?

Hi,

I am not aware of any out of the box functionality for your requirements. There is however something called Extensible data security policies (XDS). But as I understand it, it will require creating some custom queries in the application and link the related users with the new XDS queries / policies. Perhaps this could work for you. See the documentation link below.

HI,

It is not possible to restrict business units or cost centers within the application using configuration. This requires a customization using Visual Studio. One option to achieve this is by creating a security policy using Extensible Data Security (XDS).

In the past, Microsoft create also a white paper with an example how to filter data by dimension value. The white paper is written for AX 2012, but largely still applicable to Dynamics 365 Finance.
