Can I Link to a Form in the Site Map?

Hi,

I have a customer that doesn't like how buried in the mobile app the New button is for a form. Is it possible to add a form to the sitemap? Ideally I want the customer to open the Dynamics app on her phone and start out on a particular empty form.

I tried just putting the Entity at the top of the sitemap, so it becomes the home page, but that's not good enough for the customer. You still need to click the ellipsis and then select New. If I can't make starting out on a New form the home page, can I at least add something like a + button?

    Hi Sean,

Will your customers be navigated to new lead form when they click home button?

Have you tried to sign in again or re-install app again?

    Regards,

Even if I set the item type to URL, it doesn't save that type. If I leave the site map and go back, URL is no longer selected.

It wasn't working for my customers either. I set up Lead as the home page and told them they will have to navigate to the new form manually.

    Hi Sean,

I tested on an android device with d365 app version 4.3.19114.1 without issue.

Have you set the item Type to URL? Have you tried to sign out and sign in again to refresh cache? Is your account security role system admin?

    For your customer real requirement,

we could set new lead form as app home page,

first item under My Work area will be home page to whole app.

then when we open sales app it will open new lead form by default.

In addition, my configuration also not worked on my ios phone, it works on android phone with a newly installed app.

So my final conclusion is: Your issue might be caused by cache, because I also met issue on my phone,

you could uninstall d365 app on your phone and re-install it again to remove cache completely.

    Regards,

    Clofly

I may not have communicated the requirement well enough. They want the starting page for the app to be the New Form for the Lead. I'm using Android. Upon opening, I start out on the default Leads view.

    Hi Sean,

Does your platform is also iOS?

Mine is iOS and app version is 13.19114.10.

Could you share me your subarea properties screenshot?

Below is my site map configuration, and it could be done within App Designer without XrmToolbox.

It will open a new lead creation form on both desktop and app, and if I hit home button, it'll redirect me to sales dashboard.

From your screenshot. Leads item is selected, were you trying to overwrite default Leads subarea?

If so, I suggest you add a new custom URL type subarea(as your first subarea New Lead) instead of overwritting the OOB item for mobile application.

Also, if you had changed the default, try to sign out app and test again.

    Regards,

    Clofly

This works to create a link to a new form, but when I open the app it doesn't default to this page on mobile. Interestingly, on the web browser, it opens to a new form the way it should, but still shows the entity as selected (Leads)

On the mobile app, it shows the default view for Leads, but if you hit the Home button it opens a new Leads form. I want it to also open to the new Leads form, the way it does on the web browser.

    Hi Sean,

Try to edit sitemap with XrmToolbox's Site Map editor plugin,

add "/main.aspx?pagetype=entityrecord&etn=yourEntityName" to subarea url property.

if you update doesn't work, then check again in App Designer(save and publish):

It works well in mobile application(iOS):
