a get change error on table "XXX" cannot find table

I have a question in regards to integrating with the HR module.  As I am sure you know, the HR module uses field names that you cannot type or copy and paste into field creation window in GP.  I am trying to create a couple of forms with scrolling windows that will show data from some of the HR training tables.  I exported all of the data types and fields that I would need and imported them into my custom dictionary and then created a matching table for each table I want to use in my custom dictionary.  The problem I am having though is that when I go to access any of the tables from my forms that have any of the HR only field names I get a "cannot find the table" error message.  I can use SQL to query the table no problem.  I have used this process in the past with other third party dictionaries and it worked just fine.  Is there something special I need to do when integrating in this manner to an HR table?

I appreciate any insight you may have on this matter.

Thanks,

Lonnie

    Hi,

Drop and Create your custom table from

Microsoft Dynamics GP--> Maintenance --> SQL

Select the database, select the series and select the table which needs to be created

select all the options on the right side of the window

    click on process.

    hope this helps.

    Regards,

    SantoshG

Follow the above steps mentioned by santhosh in test environment. If you are going to follow in Live machine, make sure you have a latest backup for company database, before following those steps.

    Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the suggestion.  Unfortunately, this did not make a difference.

I did make a backup of the tables that contained data.  Thanks.  Unfortunately, the process of dropping and recreating did not make a difference.  I did use the SQL maintenance window in GP.  The tables are set up as third party tables in both dictionaries.  Would that make any difference?

I have done a bit more testing and am totally perplexed.  I created a test window with a windows pre script.  I clear the range of the table and then get the first record in the table.  There is only a single record in the table.  I then look at the err() value when I do the get first and I see a 16 (EOF).  So I added a button to the window that sets the key field for the second key and do a change table.  I set a value on a second field (the one used in key 1) and then save the table.  I check the err() value and have a 0.  I then close and reopen the window and the process still doesn't find any data in the table.

Okay, I have it fixed.  When I created the tables they were created in the 3rd Party series just like the original ones in the HR module.  Normally I would use the project series so I changed the tables to the project and now I can read from and write to the tables without any issues.  Not sure why this would matter but it seems to.  At least now I can move forward!  Thanks to those who responded.
