Fact or Fiction?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We are wondering as we have always been told, when updating GP from ex XX.0725, and there is a fix on XX.0898 you must install all updates from XX.0725 to XX.0898 for all fixes to be applied, or can you just install the latest and all the later updates are rolled up?

Service packs and hotfixes are cumulative and contain ALL previous features and fixes introduced in prior service packs, fact! In your example above, you can apply build 898 to your current build 725 environment without having to install any in-between builds. There may be some specific cases where you will need to apply up to a specific build number, before upgrading to a newer release, but these exceptions are outlined in the Upgrade Path page for the newer release.
