Solution to user input error: Sales orders rasied at head off for a 2nd location

Posted on by 1,330

Hi,

Ultimately, this is a user input error problem but I think NAV should resolve this.

Background:

We have two locations manufacturing different products in each.

95% of orders go through one site. 5% of orders go through a 2nd site.

Order processors at site 1 process orders for all products across both sites. Order processors at site 2, only process orders for site 2's range of products. Most customers have access to the full range of products.

The problem:

Most customers have no responsibility centre and by default, their orders get raised with a Location code of 'Site 1'. Where they raise an order for a product exclusive to site 2. They are required to amend the Location code on order lines to 'Site 2' manually. This change of location code consistently gets missed.

Subsequent production, supply and demand signals are causing havoc.

What setup could resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Guy

Small customization is required to add the validation. For that contact your Microsoft Dynamics NAV partner.
