Hi Community,
I would like to find out Is there anyway we can delete the General Ledger Entries in Navision?
I have a company A in Navision and I want to create another similar company of Company A, but without the general ledger entries.
I know that at companies, I can copy Company A to create Company B, but I don't want the general ledger entries, Is there a way to do this?
Thank you!
Josh,
Not possible easily. Have you tried creating a new company then running Setup Checklist in classic client?
Administration->General Setup->Setup Checklist then go to Function->Copy Data… and select the company you want to get the initial data from. Once the company is selected, now select the tables that you would like to copy data from. You can select one at a time or select multiple at a time.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Steve
Just use the excellent Configuration Package feature, which I guess won't take a lot of time.

But besides these tables, please note that you also need to consider the related tables, such as Payment Method, Payment Terms, etc. on the Customer table.
Hope this also helps.
Thanks

Thanks Zhu for your valuable information and question.
Actually, when I create the new company, I don't want any transactions to move to the new Company B, but I want the posting groups, vendors and customers to be brought over as it is. May I ask how would you advise me to do this?
Thank you!
Hi, The method is yes, but it is not recommended, if you only delete General Ledger Entries, how about Posted Sales Invoice? There are also Customer Ledger Entries, Posted Documents, various Ledger Entries, and various Registers that need to be deleted.
It is recommended to export the Master Data and Opening Balance data from Company A and import to Company B.

Hi Josh,
Inje is rightly said here, Your partner can do, also if you have access SQL server, from backend you also delete those GL entry table data.
Thanks.
There are ways to do that, But it requires that it is done properly.
You should seek assistance from a Dynamics NAV partner for a task like that.
