D365 BC On-Premise Simultaneous Sessions with Same User

This question refers to the latest version of D365 BC On-Premise with the new named license requirements (as opposed to the old concurrent licensing model).

Does it allow multiple sessions with the same user/license from two different devices at the same time? For example, could an employee be logged in from both his desktop and laptop PC at the same time?

    Yes, you can do that.

Yes, named users are not restricted by device, but there may be policies or issues from a technical perspective running multiple sessions because that conflicts with a good security model.  As an example, people can log into their phones and laptops fluidly, but if you log into one or the other, your company security policy may require you to re-log in when switching devices.

We're planning to utilize API functionality to create orders and such, and our intention was to use a single user/license for this purpose. From the replies so far, it sounds like this will be possible.

    Thank you for the responses.

There shouldn't be any problem with your API scenario.
