Don't include the Hyperlinks in Excel when I run the report

Hi,

I have the requirement not to include the hyperlinks in excel after running the Report and exporting it to excel. Whenever I click on the cell with hyperlink on excel it is taking me to the record in CRM. I can manually remove all the hyperlinks after exporting to excel. I don't want to include hyperlinks in excel as I run the report.

Thanks,

Sai

    Hi,

whether there are hyperlinks or not depends on how that report is designed, not on the format of the file. Remove hyperlinks from the report - you won't have them in the excel file either..

    Hello.

If you are using the Reports in Microsoft Dynamics, after you run them and click on the export button, you can export the file in .csv format instead of .xlsx format. Indeed the layout might look strange, but all you have to do is to copy the headers in the right place and then to delete the first columns, the ones that contain the headers on every row (you will understand after you export the file in this format)

Another option is to still export it with the links, as Excel file and then use Copy and Paste Special -> Values in order to get just the values in the cell, without any additional content. But the disadvantage is that it works only if you paste the content somewhere else, not over the actual content with the links. So you might end up with even more clicks if you copy-paste only values the whole table and you have to manually format each column after that in the result table.

And the third and my favorite option is to use the Quick Find feature of Microsoft Dynamics. It will indeed export 3 additional and hidden columns (A,B and C) but you could easy delete them with a few clicks and get just the content without any links.

It exports those columns because they work like IDs for the records. This way you can also update records in this excel and then import the file in CRM to get the changes there. You might want to explore this possibility too.

    Hi Alex,

I am using the Full Name field from Users Entity in my report. By default the report has the hyperlinks to the records. Can you tell me how to disable hyperlinks on the report.

    Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your reply. I have a report which will be used again and again. I want hyperlinks to be removed once I export the report to .xlsx format.
