How to change field data type in Microsoft dynamic CRM ?

I have use Microsoft dynamic crm. I have Account option under sales module. Under this i have status field which data type is status.

Here i just want to change datatype status in option set. So i can insert make it drop down.

How can i do it Please help thnaks.

    Hi Jai,

    There is only way you can do this by creating new field. Dynamics CRM does not support changing field datatype after field  creation .

    Even if it was possible, you would loose all historical data about that field since the type wouldn't obviously match anymore !

    Status is a system defined field, better to have your custom drop down attribute where you have required options and can place it over and and use it.
