Dynamics 365 - Update Data (Accounts) via Data Management

Hallo,

I want to enrich my existing Accounts with additional data. I have downloaded all Accounts and enriched the file in Excel with the information. Now I want to re-import a generated .csv File to Dynamics 365 with the Import Functionality (Data Management).

The Problem is, that I see no option to select 'Update'. So I tried to use the regular Import Function and mapped the ID (Primary Key). But this leads to an error "record already exists".

How can I update this data? Is it possible with the On-Board Import Function?

Hey Andrew,

thanks for your suggestion. I choosed .csv as I had some problems with the xlsx (the mapping did not appear). But now I tried it again with the xlsx file and now it works.

Re-Trying it now with the update and a xlsx file. I'll report about the results.

I believe you need to import it as an xlsx file instead. To generate an xlsx file export the accounts (for re-import), then perform the enhancements and reimport. The first column (hidden from memory) will contain the guid for that record, leave the id as it is.
