Ax 2012 R3 Visual Studio 2013 Issue

Hi I have updated my Ax 2012 R3 with CU8 as required for visual Studio 2013.

But when I run ax setup for installation it giver error for MS Visual studio required.

Can this be because I have trial version ??

Its Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2013

Version 12.0.31101.00 Update 4

Microsoft .NET Framework

Version 4.5.51641

I also noticed after applying updates of CU8 it successfully completed the VS tools installation. But upon running the Ax 2012 R3 Setup it still not able to validate.

I do not think there is a dependency for compiling/CIL generation for this.

Please take note this is a trial version only.

I'm going to wildly guess what you're doing, based on the validation message that you mentioned in another thread and still didn't put here despite of my reminder.

You have AX 2012 R3 CU8 with Visual Studio Tools for VS 2013. Now you're running the installer for AX 2012 R3 without CU8, which obviously doesn't support VS 2013, so you get a message about missing VS 2010.

You have to splitstream CU8 to your installation files to be able to use if for CU8 environments.

Dear Anoop,

Try installing Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate , that may solve your problem as it helped in my case.

Hi Anoop,

I would suggest that you should install Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate first. Because I have installed AX 2012 R3 with VS 2013 Ultimate without any issue.

I think Martin is right.

The professional version of VS should be enough. But only the slipstreamed CU8 DVD can be used to setup the new VS Tools.

And there are a lot of recommendations that vs20120 tools (if already installed) should be removed first.

Hi Martin,

It is kind of urgent.

I have installed MS VS 2013 professional, initially, I faced the exact same issue as Anoop faced while installing. Thanks to you, I followed your answer and resolved the issue.

Now when I started to Customize PO report in VS, and tried to make project it showed me an error saying No framework selected.

I searched for it on Google, but no success.

Can you please tell me how should I get rid of this thing so that I can complete the report in time.
