How to use "raw material picking" work and then post the picking list journal for a serialized product when "Capture serial number" at Picking?

Hello community,

I am looking for a setup to have an item seralized where we mention the id only for picking processes AND using WMS advanced feature.

Ps: I found this link, which describe exactly what I wants! (so I believe it is possible?)

   

When I tried to move the item, using Raw material picking to the production IN location. Here I always retrieve this error message: 

"Item is set to capture serial at picking or packing. Unable to pick serialized inventory"

Here is the setup that I believe must be the correct one:

Ps: I tried to mark/unmark the check box "Register serials before consumption".

Ps2: if I pass "Capture serial number" to None, the system will never ask for a serial = this is not a solution.

After some discussion with one of my collegue, he told me that I must uncheck "physical inventory".

> But this is not allowed when using WMS3...

So I am a bit lost on what setup should be the right..

Please can somone help?

    Hello Maxime,

    I tested with a serial tracked item with this Tracking Dimension and test was succesfull.

    The item was received on a Purchase Order and received with no serial number (see RECV and SB002 locations in screen shot).  I released the Production Order for the parent item and Raw Material Pick work was created as usual.  During the pick, the warehouse worker had to identify the serial number and item was moved to production staging (see serial number in Prep_prod location in sceen shot below).  From staging location, item was moved to the resource location.

    Obviously, the reservation hohierarchy included had to include serial number below location.
