assembly entry report is showing the correct unit cost but on the actual item in inventory the Current Cost is not correct
What steps are needed to correct this?

The current cost is the amount that was used the last time that inventory item was increased. It's not part of your FIFO layer, so it isn't part of your cost of goods sold. The costs are stored in your IV10200 table. The cost is pulled when the transaction is posted. If you want to change the Current Cost, I think you can go to the Item card and just type in a new one.
