What is the best way to prevent an item variant from being sold in the Microsoft point of sale system?

Posted on by 113

Hi Experts,

We want to block some item variants from being sold at the Microsoft point of sale.

We made changes to the Default Order Settings in Dynamics 365. Selecting 'stopped' at the product level successfully blocks the item from the POS and back office. However, if 'stopped' is only selected at the variant level and not the product level, the item will not be blocked

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

    Hi Andreas,

    Thanks for your response.

Could you please guide me on how to remove an item from the sortiment?

    Hi Hana,

    Thanks for your response.

I added a new record to the Default Order Setting of an item to block a specific variant and gave it the highest rank. However, the item is still being sold in the POS and the block doesn't seem to be working.

    Hy Navid,

an easy way to avoid the usage of the Item on POS is to remove that item from the sortiment. In that case the item will be sellable on standrad Sales Order, or even on a Call Centers when the item is part of another (CallCenter) sortiment.

    Hi Navid,

By querying relevant documents, it is found that, in principle, the functions of these two settings are consistent. In addition, it should be noted that the rank is very important. The rule with rank zero serves as a safety net. If no other rules are hit, then the default order settings from rule zero will be used. For detailed information, you can view the following documents.
