mPOS not printing images on receipts

Hi,

I feel like I have already tested all I can prior to coming on to the community to ask about this one.

We are using mPOS (D365 - Retail) and currently trying to setup for the company logo to appear on the receipt.

Within the D365 Portal, I have been on to Images and uploaded a .bmp which is under 10kb in file size with the dimensions of 115x52px

We are using Windows 10 devices, which have a Star receipt printer connected by USB.  Within the Star interface, I have added in the company logo in the Image Store and performed a test print from Notepad and Windows Test Page, both print with the logo featured which confirms that the printer can see the image being passed and comes out as expected.

I have then been on to the Receipt Designer, confirmed I am using the correct receipt as I first tested adding "random text" as a line on the print layout, sent this job to the till and printed it, successfully showing up.

I have then been back on to the Receipt Designer, added 'Logo' and selected the image required, Saved the change and sent the job to the till, removing the "random text" line.  I have completed a transaction to confirm that the "random text" line has now been removed, but the logo isn't appearing.  I have followed up testing with using a .bmp and .jpg, with no difference in the outcome.  

We are using the OPOS driver which comes with the Star utility, and have tried an old version and the latest of the utility.  I have spoken to Star tech support and they confirm that as it's only POS that isn't printing, then they cannot assist with this, as the utility and windows are both working.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, please ask any questions and i'll come back to you with the info.

    Star finally added "Support PrintMemoryBitmap Method" that is required for D365 retail/commerce to print logo in driver ver 3.8 for the models below.
         - SP700
         - TSP650II
         - TSP650IISK
         - TSP700II
         - TSP800II
         - TUP500
         - TUP900

    Hi Shafeeque,

    We have TM-U220 POS printer which is dot matrix and they are able to print the receipts after lot of adjustments as I was not able to configure OPOS driver. But with windows drivers we had to squeeze the design too much the printer speed became very very slow and also there is no way to increase the fonts too.

    Are you aware of such OPOS driver issues with dot matrix printer? I have successfully configured TM T 82 and 88 many times though

    I would recommend to check if a firmware upgrade on the printer would do anything. If your hardware partner is qualified, they will be able capture how data is being transferred to Epson printer and achieve the same  on partner. I was also stuck in a similar case with another brand and the vendor helped.

    Also check if you have any option to make the star printer work with Epson OPOS.

    For testing in my HW profile I added two printers - an epson TM-t88v and a star tsp654II... both USB, both OPOS. Print Binary encoding set to yes, character set - 0.

    With no logo set in the receipt format, i perform a sale and both printers print the receipt.. No issues.

    I created a 1px by 1px monochrome 1 bit depth bmp 'logo'... I add that to the receipt format and perform another sale. The Epson printer prints the receipt, and i see the 1px logo centered at the top as expected. The star printer only gives a printing error. In the event log its an error about printMemoryBitmap 106....

    Is the bottom line here that Star printers just do not work with Dynamics 365 commerce? Not being able to print a logo when even the most basic free POS solution can do so is really disheartening. We're 'upgrading' stores from RMS to this and somehow there is functionality they are going to lose? I'm baffled here.

    Is there anyone that is able to print ANY logo to a star printer via OPOS drivers? Can't use Windows drivers from MPOS because the width is impossible to fix as well.... The built-in star nvlogo logo printing doesnt work either. There has to be someone out there using star printers successfully?

    Circling back to this... Extremely frustrating that a standard peripheral cannot print logos.. Star TSP654II is listed as compatible. We have it at multiple retail locations. The same logo (small, 1 bit bmp) can print fine on Epson printers when in the receipt format. Error when printing to Star printers. As the OP mentioned, even storing the logo in the NVRAM of the Star printers doesnt work. Somehow MPOS makes the printer not even print the logo via that method... This needs to be looked at or at least make some notes in the compatible hardware page that Star printers cannot print logos no matter what the format.

    Revisiting this, with at least epson OPOS printers, the key it having a monochrome bmp file with bitmap depth of 1.

    Anyone solve this with star printers? They are clearly a supported printer but logos, no matter what i configure, will NOT print. Logos are not printing to the printer, and there are no logos on the receipts in the journal at the POS either. Should logos at least appear in the journal?

    I have send the file. Star printers are listed tested printers with Dynamics.
