Good Day,
I own an IT Company in South Africa, we have a group of Microsoft Trained Developers, until this point we have mainly focused on the .NET bespoke development.
We need to urgently provide a quote for the development and implementation of a Finance Module into 9 Organisations that already use our other product base.
We do not want to build a Finance Module from scratch, so we want to use Microsoft Dynamics.
How do we go about getting a detailed price list for development, as well as implementation of a bespoke NAV on-premise solution?
Is online training for my programmers advisable, or should they be sent to a training acadamy?
The online Dyamics portal doesn't seem to be clear on how to become a Microsoft Dynamics partner etc.
Any help is appreciated.

I have the same question (0)Hi Nico,
depends a little one your time frame. It takes for an interested programmer approx. 2 years to be useful/proficient in the NAV finance module. Far less if they know accounting well enough to double as an accounting clerk from the start (half a year? probably a little more, but in that range). "Urgently" means you don't have that time frame. So, it boils down to these questions:
1. Is it a one-off job or a new line of business you want to establish?
2. Do you have reliable partners with the required skills set?
3. How big is the risk of jeopardizing your customer when it doesn't run smoothly? Do they accept a learning curve and/or a longer time frame?
Assuming you want to build this LOB, I would suggest you hire an experienced NAV specialist to train your coders. If the time frame is tight and crucial, I would suggest to team up with a reliable implementation partner (I know that's asking a lot) and to watch and learn.
From the build yourself / use NAV POV, I'm with you. NAV is a mature product, business logic wise. And it can be "easily" coupled with a .net application. And, it should fulfill most requirements without bespoke coding in the business logic, only with setup / light customization.
with best regards
Jens
