Have managed to change to Event Date to a new date format, but cannot change the drop down from US format to NZ Date format. Where do you change this?

It can be done with Angular also.
As I noticed that you don’t want to deal with Angular development ((+) Event Portal- No Sessions are associated with this event error- but no sessions are required for the event - Dynamics 365 Marketing Forum Community Forum), there is no other solution for the time being.
You can post your proposal in Ideas forum to let others vote for it.

I have a developer and they have looked and have not been able to identify the file or what to change for this drop down to make the change in Angular. Do you know?

you could start with sessions.component.html/sessions.component.ts, there is a method called dateText, which you need to adjust.

Thanks so much- will pass on to developer- it still is unreal that date changes have to be adjusted this way instead of site settings as it used to be!
