Following the instructions in KB878449 will get you the desired results. Moving the databases in one thing but then you need to satisfy the needs of SQL especially when it comes to security.

You cannot simply replicate the DB on a new server.  The databases must match what is in the DYNAMICS database and GP Utilities would need to be run.

Also, installs of GP reference a specific server through a System ODBC connection.  Therefore, if you do not install GP specifically to point at this new server with a new DSN then it will fail.

You will need to use the 'sa' account and password on the new instance. Make sure you have enabled mixed mode authentication and that the 'sa' account is enabled. You will then go into GP and set the passwords for your users. Before you do that run the CaptureLogins scripts found in KB 878449.

    Hi Carolina,

This is a bit wide scope but we can try to narrow down.

Can you login as DYNSA? If yes, you can grant access to "sa" within Dynamics GP.

if can't login as DYNSA".. you can try this option...

Go to SQL Management Studio >> Security >> Logins >> sa <right click Properties > User Mapping>  do you see company has access to your new company database and DYNAMICS db?
