Restrict access from same team

Posted on by 130

I have one team t1, which has m1, m2 and m3 members. Now I want to make sure that records created by m1 should not be visible to m2 and m3 and so on. i.e. records created by any member should NOT be visible to any other teammates. How to achieve this restriction?

yes this is correct but keep in mind if a record/account is owned by T1 or the account owner is T1 then M1 M2 M3 can see the account otherwise not

I am writing down my understanding of your suggestion, please confirm if this is correct.

I have Security Role S1, Which has the privilege of Create, Read, Write, Delete, Assign, Share. I need to set this to "User Level". like this -

Then assign this Role S1 to a Team T1 and add M1, M2 and M3 to this.

Please correct if it is wrong.

Restrict the security role read privilege of Team T1 and Members M1,M2 & M3 to user level only.

for e.g. you want T1 members to only see accounts/records/entity not to be visible to each other then check the security role account read privilege of each member and reduce it to 'user level'; do the same for T1's security role

RE: Restrict access from same team

    Hi Atul,

it's all about the roles you assign to the users directly or through team membership - not about whether those users are members of the team. If that team has no roles at all, it does not matter that you have 3 users in the team - they will get their permissions through the roles assigned to them directly (or through other teams).

In other words.. If user m1 creates a record, and if m1 is still the "owner" of that record, you have to make sure user m2 does not have a role that somehow allows that user to see m1's records (and yes, m2 can get that role through team membership.. if the role is assigned to the team)
