Thank you.
I browsed through the checklist on my 2010 as suggested - and the going looks easier :-)
I am in the trial and error phase now and I do apprciate your feedback.
Have a great day
Jason
Hi Jason--
I did think of a couple other things that might help.
1. Through CustomerSource or your partner, you may have access to the training materials for Payroll (under Learning, I believe, in CustomerSource) where you can download the actual training manual for payroll which has an appendix with checklists of setup and processing.
2. In GP, at least for setup, you can use the Setup Checklist to guide you through the setup, Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Tools>>Setup>>Setup Checklist.
Take care,
Christina
Hi Jason--
I would suggest that you discuss your needs with your partner or consultant, unfortunately what you request really falls in to consulting-- as there are any number of factors that would impact your setup and process with regards to payroll. Sorry that I could not be more helpful.
Take care,
Christina
Hello and how are you doing?
I am a newbie to gp2010 and I get to like it more and more. I need to hit the ground running with the payroll setup for salaries ( monthly) from the ground up. I have been going through the documentation but its really not helpful ( for now) . I a mucking around with three sample employees . Can I have a step by step guide for newbies on this (i.e from setup to printing payslip) .
Thanks
Hi--
We really need more information to provide guidance. Microsoft Dynamics GP help, and the online manuals (both under the help menu in GP) will take you the payroll process step by step.
Salary payments are made by setting up a salary type pay code, assigning it to an employee and then building the payroll with the "salary" automatic payment type marked.
Advance payments are made by specifying an advance amount on the pay code when assigned to the employee and then building the payroll with the "advance" option marked.
Take care,
Christina
