Posting AP Invoice journal: Cannot edit ProjCostTransCost

(0) ShareShare

Hi.

While trying to post AP Invoice journal we get this error:

"Cannot edit a record in Expense (ProjCostTransCost). The record has never been selected."

The data in the journal seems to be correct.

Any ideas why it happens and how to resolve it?

Thanks,

Roberto

    Hi Roberto,

Have you tried deleting the invoice line and the journal and created a new journal where you entered the same project transaction?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig.

This journal has more than 100 lines. As I don't know which line has this problem, it means deleting the whole journal and creating it again.

I'm worried that this is a bigger problem that I'm not aware of.

    Hello Robert,

Then try to use the 'post and transfer' posting function.

This will post all lines that are ok and transfer the one with the problem to a new journal.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

Tried to use this function and it didn't work. Got the same error.

    Hi Roberto,

Are all vouchers related to projects?

    Best regards,

    Hi Ludwig.

No, some of them related to projects while other related to ledger.

    Hi Roberto,

Hoping that only a limited number of transactions are related to projects, can you delete them from your journal and then try to post the remaining transactions?

You would of course, then have to reenter the project transactions in a new journal but this might be easier and faster to dig down to the underlying cause of the problem.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig.

I will give it a try. But do you have any idea why it happens?

    Hi Roberto,

It is really difficult to say why you got this error message. If you get it multiple times you could ask a developer to debug. Otherwise, I would just recommend to delete and reenter the transactions.

    Best regards
