BYOD on D365 FO

Dear Community Group,
 
If I want to use BYOD, first I must create an Azure SQL database store. But I don't know if I can create a new BYOD on the current UAT test or test data. Second, if I want to extract data from Dynamics 365 FO for the Power BI process, do we have another solution, or must I use BYOD?

    Hy,
    to setup the Azure SQL for BYOD export you need support of your Azure or DBA Admin if you are not aware of the process how to do this.
    But as BYOD is expensive and not any longer state of the art there ar are othjer options
     
    For the PowerBI reporting I would firstly have a clear vision of what data have to be analyzed with the Power BI.
    If this is clear you can evaluate the out of the box F&O tabular data entity store which is a Datawareouse covering a lot of the F&O modules. These reports can be consumed mostly within F&O as we call it embedded Power BI reporting. These reports can also be modified and enhanced by development.

    For further data processing you can start to work with most modern state of the art techique to use Microsoft Fabric for all post transactional data processing. This requieres F&O connected Dataverse environemnt means you will need also PPAC access to configure.
