I setup a new company and copied it from an existing one.
I can see that the new company recognizes there is a modified trial balance report, it is selected and the users have the default assigned to their setup.
However, when I print the report and go to customize report, it does not seem to be picking up the modified version that was setup in the old companies.
Is there something I am missing or do I need to make the customized changes in the new company?

I just learned that the report I was looking at needed to have the Subtotal By set as "period".
I thought the report customization was based on "Detailed" Report. However the customization went a bit further to specify only by Period. Interesting..
It is possible that you are launching a different SET file for Dynamics compared to what other users are launching. This set file could be pointing to a completely different location for reports.
To see the file path for the Reports.dic file, navigate to the Edit Launch File window...
Administration >> Setup >> System >> Edit Launch File
Select the appropriate product then you will see the path for the reports dictionary for that product
I have tested the following:
My username New Company: Report is not Modified version
SA username New Company: Report is not Modified version
My username Old Company: Report IS modified
SA username Old Company: Report IS modified
I asked another user to print a TB in the New company under her user name, and she IS getting the modified version.
Looks like it is me but, only for the new company. How do I verify the Reports.DIC file path and change that?
Hi Nicole,
Report & Form Customization are valid across all the companies, as long as the "Modified Forms & Reports Security" is properly assigned.
What you don't tell, is how much change has been brought to that report.. and if it involves some calculated fields that might be company specific..
The other thing to check is to make sure that the launch file is properly pointing to the custom REPORTS.DIC file (test if the report works in an old company and then switch to the new company.. if not, then see question above).
