Outer Join Two grid Question

Hi evryone,

I have a Form with two grid and i want to show all records in both of them, i have found that i should use the OuterJoin to show all parent records in G1 and all matched child records in G2. Based on this link http://dynamicsaxhari.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/form-data-source-link-types-active.html,

But also, i need to filter the second grid based on the first one : wich mean when i select a field from G1, only the related field in G2 will be shown (not just be selected wich mean to hide the other records) How can i combine the outerJoin logic with this need.

Hi Ennasri,

To achieve this you need to add 2 data sources on your form. Second data source should have join source = first data source and LinkType = Delay.

Hi ievgen Miroshnikov,

I need to get only the related field in G2 when i select record from G1 , but with this method they will be just selected in G2 and the other records will be shown too.

Can you please add screenshot or any other details ? it's hard to understand what are you trying to achieve.

Are you saying that you can see all records from G2, not only related ?

Tnak you for your reply,

I need to get the all records in G2 , but when I select a record from G1 i should get only related records shown in G2.

With Join datasource and link type delay; when i select a record from G1 i get just one record selected in G2 not the hole related records

I think something wrong with relations between G1 and G2.

If you look at sales table form it has 2 grids : header and lines with link = delayed and everything works fine.

Actually all forms with header and line have link = delayed.

Can you please check relations between your tables ?

I have checked relation; i have InventTable and BOM table and relation is well established.

what i need is when i click on a specific itemid from G1(InventTable), i should get in G2 only related records(BOM). And if their is no related BOM field , G2 should appear empty.

In my case, and using join DS (inner/outer..) , i didn't get this result.

I did create form that have 2 DS: InventTable and BOM and everything works like a charm

However I don't really understand what you want to achieve. Because BOM table contains BOM lines so if you will link item and BOM line you will see all lines that have this item.

If you want to see all BOM header, there is no direct connection because Item and BOM header are linked trough BOM version.

That is it! i should see all lines that have this item, but in my case i see all of lines.

And as you have said , i have used BOM version to connect items with BOM lines
