Looking at your screenshot, I'll assume that MasterPlan is the static master plan only. Static plans won't be updated by individual Sales Orders, for that you'd need to view the Dynamic plan (if you have one configured in your system).
Take a quick look at: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa498331.aspx hopefully that'll help explain the rationale.
